I’m a keen gardener based in Aberdeen, Northeast Scotland. This site is my garden journal — a place to document what I’m growing, share tips for gardening in the Scottish climate, and hopefully inspire others to give it a go.

Living in NE Scotland means dealing with:

  • Late frosts (often into mid-May!)
  • Short growing seasons
  • Plenty of wind and rain
  • But also long summer days and surprisingly mild coastal temperatures

🥕 What I Grow

I focus on vegetables that thrive (or at least survive!) in the Scottish climate: carrots, parsnips, potatoes, onions, peas, broad beans, kale, lettuce, beetroot, broccoli, leeks, turnips, and — with the help of a greenhouse — tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, and sweetcorn.
